PURPOSE:To set the miximum combustion character for any different kind of fuel through suppression of torque fluctuation liable to occor during changeover between the different sorts of fuel so as to obtain smooth running performance by selecting the sort of duel in response to the change of running condition. CONSTITUTION:In the range of a light load to an engine, gasoline fuel is supplied from only a gasoline injection valve in the downstream of a throttle valve 2, thereby ghe engine is drived only by gasoline. If the engine load is shifted in its high range, alcohol fuel supplying is atarted further from a alcohole injection valve 3 in the upstream of the throttle valve 2, then power of the engine is generated by combustion of both kinds of fuel. Furthermore, if the engine load is shifted in the highest range, only alcohol fuel is injected from the alcohol injection valve 3 with the injection pulse duration Tt=Ta and the injection pulse duration of the gasoline injection valve 4 is decreased to zero until the gasoline injection is stopped. These operations are controlled rapidly and accurately by a control circuit which is constituted by micro-computer or the like. |
