Such a component, e.g. a component designed as a roof-like cover, has a convex circular upper shell (1) with bent rims and a circular lower shell (2), likewise with bent rims and with a recess (4) for the reception of a closing part. The shells (1, 2) are connected to one another along their rims in a region (3). A radial reinforcement (5) serves to accommodate a holding arm (6). The hollow space formed by the shells (1, 2) is filled completely with polyurethane foam (7). The degree of deformation of the shells (1, 2) can be adjusted by control of the foam pressure and high resistance to denting and weight-bearing capacity of the component can be achieved despite the reduction in the wall thickness of the shells and this at low manufacturing costs. <IMAGE> |
