The receiver receives a signal incorporating both amplitude and angular carrier modulation. It incorporates two demodulators, the first proving an output representing the amplitude modulation signal but dependent on the carrier signal level and the second providing the angular modulation signal which incorporates attenuation correction, to allow the first demodulated signal to be corrected for eliminating the dependance on the carrier signal level. A processing circuit for the first demodulated signal provides a modification signal used for controlling the second demodulator in conjunction with the modulated carrier signal to obtain the second modulation signal.
