PURPOSE:To surely separate a transfer body without producing any flaw on the surface of a photoreceptor or the like by forming at least part of a separating pawl 1 of a nonmagnetic metal, and disposing a magnet in such a way that a magnetic field crosses said nonmagnetic metal part. CONSTITUTION:Since the magnetic field of a magnet 7 crosses a fin 8 via a magnetic field guide plate 9, eddy current is generated in the fin 8 and upward force (that is, electromagnetic braking) acts to prevent the vibration of a separating pawl 1. Then, in spite of the reduction in the contact pressure of the pawl 1, the separation of the pawl 1 from a photoreceptor 10 owing to vibration or the like does not occur, and the damaging of the photoreceptor 10 and the failure in separation are obviated. It is equally well to use an electromagnet for the magnet 7, and to energize the same in timing with the conveying period of a transfer body 11 so that electromagnetic braking acts. The pawl 1 is mounted vertically movably to the vertical wall 2c of a bracket 2 by means of a pin 5. |
