PURPOSE:To simplify the production of a magnetic resistance effect type magnetic head, by using the same material for a magnetic sensor part using an MR element, the 1st lead part where the voltage change of the information on a magnetic recording surface is obtained and the 2nd lead part where the 1st lead part is connected to the magnetic sensor part. CONSTITUTION:An MR element 201, the 1st lead part 202 and the 2nd lead part 207 are made of the same material such as the ''Permalloy '' of about 80% Ni or its equivalent Ni-Co alloy and by the thin film stacking method and through etching by the photolithography process. For an MR type magnetic head, the resistance value of the sensor part is set larger than that of the lead part to increase the S/N. For this purpose, the part 201 is extended zigzag or folded. |
