PURPOSE:To provide an antistatic property by forming metallic oxide layers on a polyester film support. CONSTITUTION:A tin oxide layer, a silicon oxide layer and a surface layer are formed in order on a surface of a support opposite to a surface on which a photographic emulsion layer is formed. To form each of the oxide layers the metal is evaporated in a high vacuum by an indirect resistance heating method or an electron beam heating method, and the vapor is condensed on the support. The resulting metallic layer is forced to be oxidized by glow discharge or nonpolar discharge under optionally oxygen-substituted reduced pressure. The preferred thickness of the tin oxide layer is 200-600Angstrom from the viewpoint of an antistatic property and optical density, and that of the silicon oxide layer is 300-1,500 deg.. The surface layer provides a slipping property and blocking resistance, and it is formed by applying a high molecular substance contg. a slipping agent and a matting agent. |
