PURPOSE:To prevent the creaking of a tape and reduce the attaching of a head, by using the magnetic powder whose surface is previously coated with a specific surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic coating material is adjusted by using the magnetic powder that adsorbing to its surface a surfactant obtained by converting a terminal group OH of the fatty acid monoglyceride shown by the right general formula (R: alkyl group) into ester such as the acetic acid of oleic acid monoglyceride, the ester of lauric acid or malic acid, the butyric acid ester of stearic acid monoglyceride, the caprylic acid ester of lauric acid monoglyceride, etc. Such magnetic coating material is applied on a substrate to form a magnetic recording medium. |
