PURPOSE:To reduce the noise level without deteriorating a magnetic characteristic as well as to improve the quality of the subject recording device by a method wherein a metal magnetic thin film, containing at least Co, Ni and Al, is used as a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a nonmagnetic substrate is formed by tapy-type paste of ethylene phthalate, an atomic ratio of 8:2 is used for the Co and Ni, and an alloy, wherein 3-20atomic% of the Al for the total atoms of the Co and Ni is added, is evaporated. Accodingly, the noise level can be reduced by adding the Al, without deteriorating the excellent magnetic characteristics of the magnetic thin film of the Co-Ni alloy. |
