PURPOSE:To obtain a toner with superior fixability, blocking resistance, charging characteristics, etc. by polymerizing a monomer after dispersing copper phthalocyanine pigment. CONSTITUTION:Copper phthalocyanine pigment is dispersed in a vinyl monomer, and the monomer is polymerized by suspension polymn. to prepare particles. In case of a condensation resin such as polyester or polyamide the pigment is dispersed in compounds as starting materials, and a polymer obtd. by bulk- or sonl.- polymerizing them is pulverized and classified. Thus, a toner having 100-170 deg.C softening point according to a ring and ball method and about 40-110 deg.C glass transition point is manufactured. A suitable reactive prepolymer contg. COOH, epoxy, etc. reactive with the functional group of said monomer for polymn. may be added in the manufacture of the toner to further enhance the shelf stability, moisture resistance, offsetting preventiveness, fixability, etc. A clear toner image free from fog is obtd. |
