PURPOSE:To recover easily and almost quantitatively a copper catalyst having an equal activity with a fresh catalyst, by blowing an inactive gas such as air into a liquid produced by an amination reaction of a halogenated benzene after said product is separated. CONSTITUTION:For example, in producing aniline from chlorobenzene and ammonia, a copper catalyst such as cuprous oxide is used. From a reactant liquid, aniline is separated. A gas such as air or steam which is inactive to this remaining liquid contg. copper catalyst, is blown into said liquid. Though it is difficult to specify both an amount of the gas and time for continuing blowing it may be discriminated that the blowing is to be ended when the pH value of a supernatant liquid attains about 5.5-6.5, or when the sepernatant liquid becomes colorless and transparent. Then, the deposited copper compound by this treatment is recovered by centrifuging etc. |
