The pivoting cable grip includes a sleeve (1) fitting around the cable (3) and a block (2) in which the cable is clamped. The block (2) is pivotally mounted in a fork (9) attached to one side of the cable conduit (8). When the cable is pulled, so as to change its direction, the block pivots and the sleeve (1) moves with it. The length of cable outside the grip which is subject to tension does not therefore flex. The portion of the cable (6) inside the cable grip flexes to allow for the pivoting movement. Since this cable is not at the same time subject to tension, it does not deteriorate as rapidly as would normally be the case. The cable may be attached in this way to the casing of any appliance where movement is required. Inside the conduit the untensioned cable is separated into the individual conductors.
