PURPOSE:To preserve raw laver leaf for a long period, keeping the survival rate of the laver cell at an extremely high level, by reducing the water content of the raw laver leaf to about 80%, and freezing the leaf under controlled cooling rate and temperature. CONSTITUTION:Raw laver leaf gathered from the sea, or the leaf subjected to the activation treatment of the physiological activity, is e.g. centrifuged to reduce the water-content to about 80%, and cooled to about -5 deg.C at an average cooling rate of <=3 deg.C/min, pref. <=2 deg.C/min, and then to about -25--35 deg.C at an average cooling rate of <=10 deg.C/min, pref. <=1 deg.C/min. After freezing, the leaf is stored at the freezing temperature. |
