Word typewriter for displaying written information, in which a group of keys for the vowels is located in the middle of the keyboard and on either side of this, in a mirror image pattern, an identical group of keys for a limited number of consonants, the bottom row of these letter keys being intended for the thumbs, and in which the placing of the keys is chosen in such a way that by simultaneously pressing two keys missing letters are formed, and in which the letter keys can also be used for symbols or figures. For displaying letters on one side and symbols or figures on the other side there is a shift key SK, and all the keys are connected to an electronic coding and processing unit 3, which decodes the signals from the keys and then emits signals representing standard letters, symbols or figures, as a result of which the combination of two simultaneously pressed letter keys, the form or sound of which recalls the pattern of a missing letter, is processed into the standard display of the said letter. <IMAGE>
