FILTRATION OF SOYSAUCE SEDIMENT

PURPOSE:Raw sediment of raw soysauce or the sediment of pasteurized soysauce is filtered with an element of porous hollow fiber membranes to effect the filtration with no reduction in the filtration rate and increase the recovery yield of soysauce. CONSTITUTION:Raw sediment of raw soysauce or the sediment formed when soysauce is pasteurized is filtered with an element of porous hollow fiber membranes. The element is made from a less than 30mm. wide bundle of hollow fiber membrane having pores of average 0.01-0.5mu diameter. The filtration is conducted by flowing the sediment on the outside of the hollow fiber membranes in the direction of the fiber axis.
