<p>The brake appts. has a conical brake lining mounted on the ventilating fan wheel attached to the motor's shaft. A braking ring is moved against the action of a spring by an electromagnetic field towards the braking lining on the fan wheel. Alternatively, the fan may be moved against a fixed braking ring. The brake lining consists of numerous blocks (9). Each block is situated between two adjacent blades of the fan wheel. The blades of the wheel are joined together in pairs by webs (8). The webs act as seats for the brake blocks. Each pair of joined blades is not joined to its neighbouring pairs of joined blades. The advantage of the arrangement lies in the reduction of the weight of the rotating brake lining.</p> |
