The femoral endoprosthesis comprises shank, neck and head portions, the normal or a greater CCD (centrum-column-Diaphysisis) angle being included between the head-neck axis and the shank axis. The neck portion comprises two stems (11,12) joined by a transverse rib, converging at the head, one being in the medial and one in the lateral position. The medial stem acts as the thrust stem, extending in the direction of the resultant (FR) of the physiological pressures acting on the head. At the neck, the lateral stem curves round the medial one, and the two are either joined together at the top of the shank, or form separate shank sections being against each other, transmitting pressure and tension loads.
|
