The spring clip extends through more than 380 deg., and is esp. used for clamping a hose on the end of a pipe. The cross sectional shape of the spring clip is selected, so that its moment of inertia, relative to an axis, which is at right angles to the ring plane, is larger than the moment of inertia of a round wire, which is of the same spring steel, and has the same cross sectional surface (A). The spring clip may be polygonal or V-shaped, with the inner angle of the V-shape being 90 deg. or smaller. The clip may consist of a strip (1), with outwardly angled longitudinal edges (3,4).
