The closure spring (2) holds the valve body in the closed position against the valve seat. There is a resetting spring (3) which acts on the pressure-indicating cooker pin (4). They are each supported on a screw face (16,17) of the cao (8) whose pitches are measured so that as the cap (8) rotates relative to the valve socket thereby setting the bias of the closure spring the ratio of the resetting forces of the closure spring (2) and resetting spring (3) remains constant. The system ensures that the pin emerges by the same length from the upper opening of the cap at any cooking stage so that to monitor the cooking process only a single marking which is the same for each cooking stage has to be observed.
