<p>New substd. cyclic methyl-phosphazenes have formula -(N:P(Cl)x(R)1-xCH3-)n-, (I), (where n is integer 3 to 8; x is no. 0 to (n-1):n; R is R1O-, R2O-, R1S-, R2S-, -NR3R4, -F, -SCN, -R2 or -O(CH2)mOH; m is 2, 3 or 4; R1 is linear, branched or cyclic opt. halogen-substd. 1-18C alkyl; R2 is opt. halogen- or 1-6C alkyl-substd. 6-18C aryl; R3 is H, 2-18C alkyl or 6-18C aryl; R4 is 1-18C alkyl, or the -NR3R4 gp. is a 3- to 6-membered heterocycle. (I where x is 0) are specifically claimed. (I) are used as additives for flame-inhibiting compsns. and foams, e.g. for polycarbonates, and for flame-proofing thermoplastics and also cellulose materials, e.g. by immersion or spraying. (I) have a higher P content than phosphazenes -(-N:P(R)2-)n- and consequently higher flame-protective properties.</p> |
