<p>A knob for the end of a switching lever, esp. an automobile gear lever, comprises a flexible outer sheath (12) fitted over a rigid connecting element (14) firmly connected to the end of the gear lever. This rigid connecting element (14) is pref. an injection-moulded element, more specifically in two parts; the one part (16) has a screw thread (22)by which it is firmly attached to the end of the gear lever, while the other part constitutes a lid (18) fitted onto the first part by a snap connection (28). The weight of the gear lever is reduced and it is made cheaper. Pref. materials are, for the sheath (12), thermoplastics, esp. PVC, or reinforced polyurethane foam; and for the fixing components (14), an ABS copolymer.</p> |
