Isolating respirator with humidity exchanger - has operation activated by manually started timer actuating two-position flap

The respirator is connected to the mouthpiece by a hose (2). Its other end is connected to a humidity exchanger (3) which, in turn is connected to the regenerating device (4). On the other end of the regenerating device (4) the respirator bag is connected. The respirator is of the pendulum-type. The humidity exchanger (3) has a two-position flap (10) controlled by a timer (14). The timer operation is locked by a cotter pin (16) fixed to a piece of string with its other end connected to the mouthpiece. When the respirator is put on by the user, the string (15) is pulled and removes the cotter pin (16), starting the operation of the timer (14). Before that the air circulates through the regenerator (4) bypassing the humidity exchanger. After a period of about ten minutes the timer (14) switches over the flap (10) so that the air passes through the humidity exchanger.
