<p>The castor wheel assembly with brake is intended for a load-carrying trolley, container, platform etc. The castor wheel (2) is rotatably carried (5) in a fork (6) which contains a pressure member (23) of inverted U-shape with radial slots (13) and brake pads (21) to either side of the castor wheel. The brake pads are in contact (23) with wedge faces (14) in the flanges (13) of the pressure member so that they move axially into contact with annular braking surfaces (3) on the wheel, when the pressure member pressed down, e.g. via a pivoted lever (19) and spring-loaded pedal, or cylinder actuator.</p> |
