<p>This lorry trailer for transporting tower cranes is in two parts, a front saddle (10) and a central frame (11) which carries a folding platform (14). Each half connects to the crane base frame (18) via carrier consoles (12). For the coupling process, the rear axle is removed and the frame suspension is lowered sufficiently to allow locking pins (19) to be fitted in the consoles. The suspension is then raised and the rear axle replaced. Uncoupling is achieved by the reverse process. After uncoupling the two parts are fitted together by the consoles. The axles are relocated on the central frame and the loading platform unfolded for use transporting other goods. The trailer need not return empty, thus cutting transport cost.</p> |
