The measurement sample is successively passed through a luminescence stimulation device (15) and a luminescent light detection and measurement device. Very weak emissions of luminescent light can be measured in liquids even in conjunction with long delay times. This requires partic. good excitation light suppression and luminescent light acquisition arrangements. Light traps are placed in the specimenc throughput system between the stimulation device and detection/evaluation device and downstream of the latter device, pref. directly behind it. Each light trap consists of several identical light trap sections in series. Each section has a throughput channel section bounded by absorbing and/or reflecting walls coaxial with the flow limiting walls.
