A single-duct pipe connector (T-piece) for the attachment of a heat flow meter or a filter unit onto a hot water pipe or the like consists of coaxial main inlet (2) and outlet (3) and a branched (4) for the attachment of the flow meter or filter unit; the axis of the branch intersects that of the main pipe. A single shut-off valve (8,10) closes the main passage (7) for the heating fluid and also the subsidiary passage (15) for the small flow led off to the meter or filter. This valve (8,10) is centrally and coaxially placed below the branch flange (4). Instead of two separate valves for the inlet and outlet and for the flow to the meter, a single valve is used. With this arrangement not only is the valve construction simplified but also only one valve wheel (9) needs to be operated.
