<p>URANIUM EXTRACTION FROM UNDERGROUND DEPOSITS Uranium is extracted from underground deposits by passing an aqueous oxidizing solution of carbon dioxide over the uranium in the presence of calcium ions. Complex uranium carbonate or bicarbonate ions are formed which enter the solution. The solution is forced to the surface and the uranium removed from it.</p> |
