PURPOSE:To enable to perform a correct measurement of a size even in an atmosphere where metal powder is scattered, by a method wherein the size is measured by means of output signals from eddy-current position detectiors positioned above and below a press-molded product. CONSTITUTION:Heat parts 101 and 201 of eddy current position detectors are placed above and below a press-molded product 15. In this consitution, an eddy current is generated on the surface of the molded product 15 by means of lines of magnetic force emanated from the coil in the heat parts, and the strength varies with a distance between the coil and the molded product 15. The changes of the eddy current are outputted through control parts 102 and 202 as voltages V1 and V2 corresponding to a distance between the head and the molded product 15. The voltages indicate the size of the molded product in an indicator 302 through a voltage Vx which is substracted from a reference voltage Vo corresponding to a reference size. The-eddy current is extremely hard to react to a metal powder, and thereby this permits the reliable measurement of the size even if the metal powder is adhered thereon. |
