PURPOSE:To remove faults of PTC ceramics such as bad workability and formability and to obtain a fixing device characteristic of PTC without unevenness in fixa- tion by making one obtained by filling with pressure PTC ceramics particles in a rigid body case a heating source. CONSTITUTION:When ceramics having a positive coefficient of resistance to temperature such as barium titanate is utilized as a heating source, it presents various advantages such as an automatic temperature controlling function. One obtained by pulverizing PTC ceramics is filled with pressure in a rigid body case and heating source is formed. A shape of the heating source is determined by a shape of the case, without processing the surface of PTC ceramics inferior in workability, it can be made to be a free shape. In a fixing roller 1, PTC ceramics particles are filled with pressure between a supporting column 3 and an aluminum made rigid cylinder 6 that is the same core and the same axis, and are made to be the heating body 5. Between the cylinder 6 and the column 3 voltage is applied with a metallic brush 11. |
