PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect life of a tool with accuracy and simplicity, by indicating increase of wear of the tool by variation of cutting force. CONSTITUTION:A work 7 is cut off by a tool 1. At this time, a constant cutting force F1 is detected by a dynamometer 2, and the output is given to an operator 4 through an amplifier 3. And then, after the cutting operation is discontinued temporarily, the cutting operation is recommenced on the same condition, and at that time, an impacting force F2/F1 acting on the tool 1 is detecte by the dynamometer 2 and given to the operator 4. And, the operator 4 operates F2/F1 from the forces F1 and F2, and if the value has exceeded the value set in advance, a warning is given from an alarm 5. It is possible, by doing so, to detect life of the tool with accuracy and simplicity. |
