PURPOSE:To enable the reduction in the length of a high resistance corona shielding layer in a rotary electric machine by winding only the bent part of the coil with an iron-containing asbestos tape and winding an SiC drive tape on the linear part consecutively to the bent part to form the shielding layer. CONSTITUTION:A conductive corona shielding layer 5 is formed from the interior of a core slot 8 to the coil end l0. Further, and iron-containing asbestos tape 6 is wound only on the bent part n of a stator end, and a silicone carbide coated tape (an SiC dry tape) 7 is wound on the linear part a consecutively to the bent part to form a high resistance corona shielding layer. Since the iron-containing asbestos tape is soft, the tape can be preferably fitted to the stator coil surface in this manner, and the corona resistance can be improved even if the length of the corona shield is shortened. |
