MEASUREMENT FOR WALL THICKNESS OF TUBE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain required measured values through a measuring system with measuring points less than the real number to be measured by rotating the measuring system consisting of a radiation source and a radiant-ray detector along the periphery of a tube material to measure the thickness of its wall. CONSTITUTION:A detector 5 counts up the quantity of radiation of a radiant ray penetrated from the radiation source 1 to the points 7 and 8 on a pipe 20. A frame 5 is rotated around the center O of revolution. At the time, the detector 4 detects the quantity of radiation of a radiant ray penetrated through points 9 and 10 on the pipe 20. Hereafter, the measuring system is rotated around the center of revolution at a stated angle to find the wall thickness of the pipe.
