<p>A pin firing device (humane killer) comprises a pin mounted inside a barrel and driven forwards against the resistance of a spring by a charge in a cartridge mounted in a cartridge seating. The cartridge is conventionally fired by a firing pin. The humane killer comprises a magazine below the cartridge seating and containing a number of cartridges to be supplied in succession into the breach. In a rearward continuation of the barrel, a repeater device, supplies successive cartridges and removes spent cartridges after firing. The construction in the form of a multi-shot gun enables repeated uses to be carried out at intervals of a few seconds, instread of the time of up to two minutes at present required for manual removal of the spent cartridge and insertion of a new cartridge.</p> |
