PURPOSE:To ensure the safety of clamping work by a method wherein the normality and abnormality of mold clamping operation and mold opening operation are judged by detecting the motion of a section moving with the opening and closing of a mold as pulse signals, and a driving source of a clamping cylinder is automatically turned OFF when the mold operates abnormally. CONSTITUTION:A moving die plate 11 is at a position of mold opening under a condition that a piston 5 of the clamping cylinder 7 is backed by the excitation of a solenoid 21b of a solenoid valve 21, and a limit switch 20 is at ON and a limit of the mold opening of the moving die plate 11 is detected. When a piston rod 13 of the clamping cylinder 7 is, for example, broken under this condition, said piston rod 13 moves right due to oil pressure force functioning to the sectional area of the rod, the moving die plate 11 starts mold clamping operation, and a displacement detecting reference scale 16 moves right in association with the moving die plate 11. Accordingly, the movement of the moving die plate 11 is stopped and the safety of work is ensured even when the moving die plate 11 functions by mistake. |
