PURPOSE:To realize an overall reduction of time required for writing and reading of a magnetic stripe, by shifting a head during the writing and shifting a medium during the reading to carry out the reading without stopping the medium. CONSTITUTION:Both output signals S1 and S2 of a CPU16 reverses to a low level during a reading mode, and an output S4 of an OR circuit 19 is kept at a low level via an AND circuit 17, etc. As a result, a deciding circuit 23 starts a pulse generating circuit 25 to drive a pulse motor 5. Then a magnetic stripe is shifted to perform the reading by a head fixed at its home position by a pulse motor 10 which is at pause. In the same way, the magnetic stripe is fixed and the head is shifted in the writing mode. Accordingly, the magnetic stripe does not stop in the reading mode to totally reduce the time required for writing and reading of a magnetic stripe. |
