PURPOSE:To easily carry out formation of a nonplating area by a method wherein a resin coating layer is formed on a desired nonplating area and, thereafter, physical impact is imparted to remove said resin coating layer. CONSTITUTION:A resin liquid is coated on a desired nonplating area of a relatively thick metal member to form a resin coating layer. The resin liquid to be used is one containing at least one polymer selected from an epoxy resin, a polyurethane resin, a phenolic resin, a chlorinated rubber and a vinyl chloride resin and, if necessary, an apparopriate auxiliary agent can be mixed and dispersed therein. The resultant member is immersed in molten zinc according to a conventional method to form a zinc plated coating. Next, on the resin layer to which the zinc plating coating is applied corresponding to the nonplating area, for example, by using a hammer or the like, physical impact force is imparted and, thereby, the resin coating layer can be easily peeled and released. |
