PURPOSE:To permit the rapid quenching of flange, as attached to a wheel, by irradiating lasers onto the flange while lifting and rotating the wheel built in a train by a lifter. CONSTITUTION:A wheel built in a truck is delivered onto a pit line 2, moving trucks 10 and 11 and a lifting truck 25 are moved to given positions, and the supporting base plate of a lifter on the lifting truck 25 is pushed upwards to lift the wheel 1. After positioning the wheel 1 at a given point by a wheel position detector 37, the wheel 1 is slowly turned by a supporting roller 34. On the other hand, lasers from a lasers generator are irradiated onto the flange portion 1a of the wheel 1 being turned through a light-focusing lens mirror 18, etc., for quenching by heating. Thus, the flange portion 1a of the wheel 1 attached to a train can be simply quenched. |
