<p>1522989 Spark-plug FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI SpA 31 Oct 1975 [23 Dec 1974] 45349/75 Heading F1B [Also in Division B3] A spark-plug comprises an earth electrode in the form of a tubular metal body 1 having holes 8 therein for the passage therethrough of a cooling medium and an end-wall 5 with openings 6 therethrough which extend parallel to the axis of the tubular body, a central electrode 2 disposed within the tubular body and insulated therefrom, an end 4 of the central electrode being spaced from the end-wall 5 of the tubular body, and a block of semi-conductor material 7 axially interposed between the end 4 of the central electrode and the end-wall 5 of the tubular body such that an electrical discharge between the electrodes passes over a surface of the block 7. The sparkplug is constructed by shrink-assembling the central electrode 2, the earth electrode 1 and their insulation 3 with cement or adhesive therebetween and shrink-assembling the semi-conductor block 7 with the electrodes at the same pressure as is used to shrink-assemble the electrodes and their insulation.</p> |
