A cylindrical block, made of a material conducting electricity, has a circular row of holes near its periphery and is located inside a heater coil. A tube is located in each hole; and each tube contains a cooler on which a seed crystal is placed. An alloy rod to be recrystallised is placed on the seed crystal inside each tube. Below the cylindrical block is a hollow ring disk through which a coolant flows; and the disk contains a circular row of holes through which the tubes pass. The top surface of the ring disk is a concave cone. Used, e.g. in the mfr. of monocrystalline magnets used in small electric motors, instruments or electronic devices. High quality cast monocrystals can be obtd. from a molten alloy bath in each tube. |
