<p>The windscreen wiper mechanism is mounted on a mobile support which moves downwards when the windscreen wipers are not in use, moving the wiper blades clear of the field of vision. The wipers are operated by a conventional link mechanism driven by a crank on the output of a reduction gearbox driven by an electric motor. The linkages operate arms pivoted from the support so that the wiper arms oscillate to sweep the windscreen. The control switches include the extra switch which energises an electrically operated actuator to pull the support downwards to a lower position when the wipers are not required.</p> |
