<p>The switch mounting box comprises two parts. The main part forms the base enclosing switch contacts and the fitting. The box extends into a rectangle part of which (3) is less deep than the main box. This part is intended to fit over a moulded cable conduit running along the surface of a wall. The second part of the box has no base, but is open to communicate with the conduit. A cover (8) fits over this part of the box, to enclose wires passing through the box. Clips (20) fit into the end wall (18) of the box, and a ledge (19) fits underneath the switch itself when this is fitted to the main part of the box. The same type of box may also be used for other electrical fittings including power outlet points. The box has holes (9) in the base to receive mounting screws, and supports (7) to receive the screws retaining the switch itself.</p> |
