The refrigerator has a storage compartment (2) with a recess at the back with the external components such as the compressor (4), the condenser (5) and possibly a fan housed in the recess. The condenser is designed to form a part of the component enclosure. The condenser is hinged along its horizontal axis (13) and connected to the compressor by a curled pipe (15). This renders the connection flexible to allow the condenser to be opened to gain access to the other components. The condenser thus acts as a ventilation grille, a protection grille and as part of the enclosure.
