The invention relates to a combustion device for vaporised fluid fuel having a vaporiser (carburettor) (2) in which liquid fuel is heated and vaporised and is emitted to a burner (24) for combustion. A nozzle (6) which is provided on the outlet of the vaporiser (2) is opened and closed by a valve needle (7) which is operated by a solenoid (4). A solenoid control circuit (17) comprises a first and a second rectifier circuit (11 to 14; 13 to 16) between a current or voltage source (26) and the solenoid (4). A switch (30) which is normally closed and is opened by a timer circuit (9) is provided between the current or voltage source (26) and the first rectifier circuit (11 to 14), and a step-down voltage transformer (10) is connected between the current or voltage source (26) and the second rectifier circuit (13 to 16). The first and the second rectifier circuit (11 to 14; 13 to 16) are connected to a common output line, so that a high or low DC voltage is emitted to the solenoid (4) when the normally closed switch (30) is respectively closed or open. <IMAGE>
