The time-resetting device comprises means of control of the motor (29), means of inverting the polarity of the drive pulses (25) and a circuit (39) for detecting the position of the rotor of the stepper motor given the position of the polarity-inverting means (25). This detector circuit operates only during the first period after the cessation of the state for resetting the divider to zero, and it then delivers a detection signal which, depending on the situation detected, does or does not comprise a detection pulse. The latter is applied to an inverter control circuit (19) which acts on the polarity-inverting means (25) so that they effect a further permutation in the event that the detection means register a position of the rotor such that, without prior inversion, the next advance pulse would not be able to make the latter advance.
