<p>The design of the wind driven rotor is such that the rotation of the drive wings is transmitted by the rotor axis in a 2:1 ratio. This transmission is kept at its most favourable by positioning of the control surface in the direction of the wind force. The wings are pref. of laminated construction, in order to safeguard a regular and uniform run of the rotor, even at various wind forces. In this manner the surfaces of attack of the wings are reduced or increased in size as required. The opening and closing of the laminations takes place via a suitable mechanism by utilising the rotor centrifugal force. Electric power may be also used for adjusting the opening and closing of the laminations.</p> |
