Cooling system for converter cabinet with modular thyristor assembly - uses separate cooling ducts for anodes and cathodes, in opposite flow directions

The cooling system for a converter cabinet with a line of e.g. four thyristors (11to14) in a modular arrangement, has a ribbed cooling body (21 to 24) in contact with the anode sides (A) and another ribbed cooling body (31 to 34) in contact with the cathode side (K) of each. Each line of cooling bodies is positioned inside a separate cooling channel (9,10) with its own exhaust fan (5,7). The two cooling channels are arranged so that the two cooling air flows (6,8) are in opposite directions. The fans are arranged at the outlet ends of the two channels, these being at opposite ends, and having the same heat dissipating capacities.
