<p>The machine enables stacked goods carried on e.g. pallets to be shrunk wrapped in plastics film. It includes a dispensing device which provides for a plastics tube (1) to be unwound from a supply roll (2) and then held open, ready for enclosing the goods. The film is also passed between cutting and welding jaws so that the required length can be cut off. Above the jaws, the tube is stretched between overhead grippers on the ends of swinging and travelling arms controlled by piston and cylinder units. Below the welding jaws, the spreading system for the open tube includes four spreader discs, supported at an acute angle to the vertical, which fit inside the tube. At a lower point the tube travels between sloping guides (14,15), between which is a small guide roller (13) inside the tube. Two folding discs (25,26), between the four spreader discs, fold the tube inwards at two opposite sides (20,21).</p> |
