The jewellery or decoration incorporates light sources in the form of different coloured LED's, energised one after the other in dependence on environmental conditions. A number of amplifiers are used to amplify different frequency ranges of a piece of music, each amplifier controlling a respective group of LED's, so that these are energised in response to different alternating frequencies within the audio-range, so that the decorative effect varies in accordance with the music. The system can be used to control decorative lights around the walls etc. of the room in which the music is being played.
