The stand unit which takes the displayed goods comprises a plastics housing (1) whose upper part (1b) is open at the front and top. The two outer sides (1c 1e) of the housing have parallel grooves (1g) whose width decreases towards the base of the groove whilst the two opposing outer sides (1c,1d) have suitable springs (1f). With the package in the housing it is visible at the top since there is no top front wall but at the bottom the package is enclosed on all sides by the housing. Several units can now be fitted firmly together by the tongues or springs of one unit engaging in the grooves ot the next. For a theft-proof display of e.g. transparent plastic packages the package can have a protruding edge which meets with a resilient tongue set on the inside of the plastics housing (1). The package can only be released by inserting a rigid bar down to release the tongue.
