PURPOSE:To prepare dry gel without distortion and cracks by hydrolysing metallic alcoxide, drying the obtained wet gel and forming a cylindric dry gel with a specific shape and measurement. CONSTITUTION:Metallic alcoxide, for example, Si(OCH3)4 is gelated in a suitable vessel by using methanol solution to grow wet gel. The wet gel is dried to form cylindric porous dry gel whose ratio (D/H) of the outer diameter D and the height H is larger than 0.1 and less than 1 and D is less than 10mm., for example, silica gel. The wet gel prepared in the said method is prevented from bending and cracks at bleeding, obtaining dry gel without distortion and cracks. |
