<p>The design enables the protection circuitry in the air conditioner to monitor temperature and also the change of state of water in the air conditioner when the latent heat of fusion may mean that ice is forming without a temperature change. Water is used in the switch tube so that its change of state and transparency can be monitored by a light source and light detector (11,12) unit in a dust protected housing (2). The detector unit monitors the water in a tube (4,5) fixed on one end of the main heating element (7). The heating element (7) is clamped into a further heater (15) on a plate through which the tubes (9) of the evaporator pass.</p> |
